Drone Dispatch
Drone Dispatch on stage at Dreamforce 2025
The world’s first agentic-powered drone workflow — pioneered in 4 weeks and launched live at Dreamforce.
Drone Dispatch is a first-of-its-kind agentic robotics system built at Salesforce. Designed and prototyped in just four weeks, it demonstrated how AI agents can autonomously orchestrate drones, analyze onsite conditions, and generate complete work orders—reshaping how field organizations respond to real-world issues. Launched at Dreamforce 2025, the system became a company-wide symbol of Salesforce’s future in agentic operations.
Agentic Inspection, Hands-Free
When a technician reports an issue in Slack, an AI agent automatically determines whether a drone should be deployed, launches it autonomously, and manages the entire first-response inspection. Live video, thermal scans, and environmental insights stream directly back into the thread. No forms, no clicks—just intelligent action.
Live Operational Awareness in Slack
We designed a new interaction model for robotics inside Slack: real-time video, telemetry, alerts, and agent reasoning in a compact, glanceable UI technicians can use from anywhere. This turns Slack into a lightweight field operations command center—meeting workers where they already collaborate.
Automatic Analysis & Work Order Creation
When the drone returns, Agentforce analyzes onsite imagery, identifies conditions and hazards, determines required skills and parts, and drafts a complete work order in Field Service. This ensures the right technician is dispatched with the right equipment—every time, with zero manual data entry.
A Scalable Pattern for Robotic Workforces
Drone Dispatch wasn’t just a demo—it established a reusable, agentic orchestration framework for integrating autonomous hardware into Salesforce workflows. The system supports drones today and is extensible to future robotic assets like rovers, inspection bots, or IoT devices.
Dreamforce Launch & Company-Wide Impact
Built in four weeks with two interns, the prototype caught the attention of the Head of Field Service, Marc Benioff, and several CEOs—including the CEO of Zipline. It became a hero moment at Dreamforce 2025, featured in three keynotes and two live demos, and is now used with customers to showcase the future of agentic field operations.
