The happy marriage of software & hardware.

I’m a design executive who’s spent the last two decades building at the intersection of software, hardware, and emerging technology — from enterprise AI and robotics to mobile products, payments, and consumer apps. I believe deeply in the power of play, experimentation, and rapid prototyping to unlock new ideas.

As Plato wrote:

“You can learn more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.”
This philosophy has shaped how I design, how I lead teams, and how I approach innovation.

I’ve led design orgs, shaped product strategy, and shipped zero-to-one experiences across Fortune 500s, high-growth startups, and early-stage ideas. My work spans multi-modal AI, complex systems, and holistic experiences across digital, physical, and conversational interfaces — and I still obsess over the details.

With roots in both visual communication design and hands-on electronics tinkering, I’ve always been drawn to the blend of art, logic, and engineering. That balance is where my best work, best teams, and best ideas live.

I design with empathy, lead with clarity, and believe that the best products — and the best cultures — are built with curiosity, craft, and diverse teams with a sense of adventure.

My story

I was born in Chicago to parents who worked in education and medicine, and grew up in Baltimore with an early fascination for how things worked — even before I had language for “design.” I was always making, hacking, building, experimenting… I just didn’t know it was a career yet.

During my freshman year studying Geological Oceanography at URI, I signed up for an intro to Photoshop course purely out of curiosity. I’d been burning mix CDs for dorm friends and designing album covers, but that class cracked something open. I realized design wasn’t a hobby — it was the lens through which I experienced the world.

After earning my BS in Visual Communication Design from Stevenson University, I worked at small agencies, freelanced nonstop, and learned the realities of client work and craft. But I wanted to understand not just how to make things, but why they mattered. That led me to Art Center in Pasadena, where I pushed deeper into interaction design, electronics, physical prototyping, and systems thinking. If a tool didn’t exist, I’d try to build it.

Over the years, that curiosity has evolved into designing holistic experiences across mobile, web, devices, apps, AI systems, brand touchpoints, and physical-digital interfaces. I’ve always believed the best interface is one that disappears, and the best product cultures are the ones where design, engineering, and research truly collaborate.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in motion — climbing, sailing, off-roading, snowboarding, or exploring wine regions with friends. And always, somewhere nearby, is Aspen, my adventurous English Setter.

I’m Parker — and I love designing things that didn’t exist before.
